Specialisation: Criminalistics

Aim and program profile

Criminalistics program aims at equipping students with knowledge in the field of prevention and combating of crime. This program will provide a solid knowledge and systematic understanding of the institutional structures, which are duty and function bearers prescribed by law and other legal acts that regulate the performance of the security sector in terms of crime prevention, its successful combating and creating a safe environment for citizens as their value and their constitutional right.

Expected learning outcomes

• use of advanced knowledge of the field of criminalistics for detection and identification of crime identification and eventual capture of the perpetrators of crime; • use of detailed heuristic and syllogistic knowledge for a high efficiency in the implementation of criminalistics profession; • application of knowledge gained in the field of criminalistics with law enforcement agencies which have priority in area of security, • contribute to the field of rule of law and the prevention of risks and other factors threatening the constitutional and legal order of the state; • critical, analytical and research skills, which can be applied in the identification, discovery and argumentation of bearers of organized crime; • identification of relevant problems dealing with organized crime, corruption, terrorism, their combating and prevention, • skills from criminalistics-criminological spheres, being profiled to identify the causes, manifesting forms and pervasive intensity of pathological-social phenomena and those of crime; • training in the field of international cooperation related to national, regional security challenges and beyond, with a special emphasis on extradition, expulsion and arrest

Academic level and degree

Upon graduation, the candidate obtains the grade: Bachelor LEVEL  Bachelor of Law – Criminalistics

Duration of studies and workload

Criminalistics department in the faculty of law is separated from the general department in the semester VII, where the student must have 180 ECTS obtained from General Legal studies, in order to continue studies in the specialized Criminalistics department which is planned to be held in semester VII and VIII.Upon completion of the Bachelor studies there is the possibility of continuing studies at the Master level, which lasts 1 year or 60 ECTS.
