The professor of the Faculty of Economics of AAB College was the main speaker at the international congress “III International Congress on Finance, Economy and Sustainable Policies” in Tirana. During her speech, she addressed the topic “Green Investments: Strategies and Advances in Finance to Address Climate Change” (English: “Green Investments: Strategies and Advances in Finance to Address Climate Change”).
She began her speech with a great privilege, emphasizing that she is part of a large family of academic excellence of AAB College, as well as its position as the largest non-public institution in Kosovo and in the region. She described AAB College as a center of excellence in teaching, focusing its commitment on the quality of education and the development of students’ practical competencies. The modern infrastructure and advanced technologies used in the teaching process provide a suitable environment to foster creativity and innovation.
In addition, she added that AAB College attaches special importance to scientific research, promoting cooperation with local and international institutions. The first-place ranking in Webometrics testifies to its commitment to the creation of new knowledge and contribution to the development of sustainable policies.
The professor also explained the concepts of green economy and finance, strategies for the development of green investments and the challenges posed by climate change, which require a sustainable transformation. She emphasized the importance of supporting the countries of the Western Balkans in this process. She mentioned that, although the region has great potential for sustainable development, challenges such as the lack of legal frameworks and financial barriers make this transition more difficult.
Finally, she suggested that it is essential to work on strengthening cooperation between the countries of the region and the private sector to promote green finance, ensuring that we base the future of our economies on the principles of sustainability and environmental protection.
She concluded her speech by quoting Peter Drucker: ‘The best way to predict the future is to create it,’ implying the importance of initiative and creativity in shaping a sustainable future.
