Valon Jakupaj

Valon Jakupaj is a film producer and director with over two decades of experience in the creative industry. Born on April 30, 1975, in Gjakova, Kosovo, he holds both British and Kosovar citizenship. Since the beginning of his career, he has stood out for his commitment to perfectionism and a deep passion for visual storytelling—qualities that have distinguished him throughout his professional journey.

He is the co-founder and CEO of Gegnia Film, a production house based in Pristina that has produced numerous feature films and documentaries supported by the Kosovo Cinematography Center. In addition to film projects, Gegnia Film has also produced television commercials and music videos for various artists. More information can be found at: www.gegniafilm.com.

In 2013, he was selected to be part of the prestigious “Producers on the Move” program during the Cannes Film Festival, where he was invited to become a member of the European Film Academy as a producer. This program enabled him to build valuable connections with European producers and to engage in meaningful international collaborations.

As an educator, Valon Jakupaj has made a valuable contribution to training new generations of filmmakers. He lectured at the Evolution Academy from 2012 to 2015, and since 2016, he has been a member of the academic staff at AAB College, teaching the subjects “Film Production” and “Television Advertising.”
