AAB contributes to the seminar on academic integrity, organized by MESTI and the EU

AAB College actively participated in the seminar “Academic Integrity: Challenges and Solutions in Higher Education”, organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosovo, within the framework of the Technical Assistance Mission (TAM), supported by the European Commission and initiated by the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE).

This seminar brought together higher education experts from Kosovo and Europe to discuss the institutional and legal challenges of academic integrity and to share best practices in this field. The activity was moderated by Mimika Dobroshi, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ Office in Kosovo, while introductory remarks were given by Bora Shpuza, Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Education, and Lucia Parducci, Program Manager at the European Union Office in Kosovo.

Representatives of AAB College participated in this meeting: Vice-Rector for International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venera Llunji, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Furtuna Mehmeti, and the Coordinator of the International and Research Office, Mimoza Kamberi.

Vice-Rector Llunji actively contributed to the discussions, emphasizing the importance of building a culture of academic integrity in higher education institutions. She emphasized that AAB College remains committed to transparency, fairness and supporting reforms that bring education in Kosovo closer to European standards.

Among the local and international contributions, Prof. Fisnik Korenica (HERE) emphasized the need to expand the code of ethics and strengthen the standards for handling cases of integrity violations. Meanwhile, Mr. Korab Dragidella presented the INSPERA platform, a local technological solution for detecting plagiarism which is already being widely used in Europe.

International expert Dr. Mohammad Khalil provided an overview of the most common forms of plagiarism and the global challenges in maintaining academic integrity.

The seminar concluded the proceedings as an important platform for the exchange of ideas and efforts towards harmonizing higher education in Kosovo with European standards.
