Lirije Beqiri

Lirije Beqiri was born on September 10, 1962, in Oshlan, Municipality of Vushtrri in Kosovo. She completed her primary education at the “Hasan Prishtina” school and secondary education at the medical school “Ali Sokoli,” both in Prishtina.

In 2012, she completed her studies at the State University of Tetovo in the field of General Nursing. Then, in 2015, she earned a Master’s degree in Health Management at the Royal College “Iliria” in Prishtina.

Following her path of professional and academic advancement, in the 2020/2021 academic year, she enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Health Care “Angela Boskin” in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she continues to deepen her expertise in healthcare.

Professional Experience

Lirije Beqiri began her professional career in 1980 at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK), where she worked as a nurse in the Abdominal Surgery Clinic until 1988. She was then appointed Chief Nurse at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic until 2004, and later served as Chief Nurse of the Surgery Clinic until 2006.

From 2006 to 2015, she served as Director of the Nursing Service at UCCK, and from 2015 to 2020 as the National Nursing Coordinator at ShSKUK. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences at AAB College and an active member of several professional and scientific bodies.

Lirije Beqiri is a distinguished professional with substantial contributions to the advancement of nursing in Kosovo, and a respected figure in the education and professional development of future healthcare professionals. She continues to serve as a role model in dedication, vision, and leadership in Kosovo’s healthcare system.
