High-level meeting on the development of badminton in Kosovo and preparations for the 2030 Mediterranean Games

In the premises of AAB College, an important meeting was held between the Rector of AAB College, prof. Blerim Olluri, and Mr. Sven Serré, President of the European Badminton Federation, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. This meeting was also attended by Mr. Lulzim Haziri, President of the Kosovo Badminton Federation, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Fatmir Pireva, professors Blerim Sylejmani and Besim Gashi, as well as the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Cooperation, Venera Llunji.

The purpose of this meeting was concrete cooperation for the development of badminton in Kosovo, especially in the context of preparations for the 2030 Mediterranean Games, which will be held for the first time in Kosovo. The parties discussed the possibility of badminton being included as an official sport in these games, emphasizing the importance of creating appropriate infrastructure and academic support for the development of this sport at the national, regional and international levels. In this context, the potential of AAB College as an academic and logistical partner for the development of the sport of badminton in Kosovo was assessed, through the provision of modern facilities and continuous support for sports research and education. The meeting also marked an important step towards organizing an International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Sport, planned to be held in December 2025, with broad participation from experts in the fields of technology, sports science and international sports policies. AAB College continues to demonstrate its commitment to internationalization, development of sports in education, and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation, directly contributing to raising Kosovo’s international profile in the sports and academic arena.
