An open virtual debate on the topic of Kosovo students’ higher education goals was held at AAB College, where parties such as the representatives of Kosovo’s EU embassies, different international agencies, and teachers and students of AAB College took part in.
The purpose of this open debate was to discuss international educational exchange; the internationalization of Kosovo education, in particular AAB College, digitalization, university libraries, etc.
The debate was attended by Mr. Donato Giuliani, Adviser to the Ambassador of the Republic of France, Marie-Christine Butel; Mrs. Jehona Ademaj Sejdiu, Advisor to the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland, Pia Stjernvall; The former Ambassador of Northern Macedonia and a professor at the University of Tetova, Mr. Agon Demjaha; Mrs. Drita Kadriu, director of the Department of Higher Education at the Ministry of Education and Science; Mrs. Jehona Lushaku Sadriu, Director of the ERASMUS + Office in Kosovo; Mr. Arian Zeka, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and, Mr. Urim Sallauka, Director of the Library of AAB College. The debate was led by Prof. Ass. Dr. Venera Llunji, Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Relations at AAB College. The rector of AAB College, Dr. Sc. Bujar Demjaha gave the introductory speech in the debate.
During this debate, the attendants discussed the strategic actions that universities and colleges must undertake to meet all the requirements of today’s labor market, the support required for integrating international strategies in higher education in Kosovo for young people, how to better assist students from Kosovo and those abroad who want to study in Kosovo during their recruitment, and how to approach the problems experienced by students and what should the government initiatives of countries to remove obstacles to potential students that want to study at EU universities be.
Another important point of this debate was the possibility of creating a cooperative network between embassies and other relevant offices for obtaining direct information on grants, funding for studies, publications, study visits, schools and summer camps, study excursions, and many other activities which would be an integral part of academic development and quality in higher education in Kosovo.
