AAB College organized a national workshop within the framework of the CORE-ED Academy project. The workshop was opened with a welcoming address by the project monitor, Prof. Dr. Bujar Demjaha, followed by a speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Mentor Lecaj.
The workshop focused on the validation of professional profiles in the field of juvenile justice, updated in accordance with the Pedagogy-First approach.
During the event, the AAB project coordinator, Ganimete Ismajli, presented the main objectives and key outcomes of the project. Subsequently, the coordinator from UBT College, Egzona Osmanaj, presented the results related to horizontal competencies for juvenile justice professionals. In addition, Prof. Fatmir Qollakaj, together with Prof. Ganimete Ismajli, presented the findings and analysis of sectoral professional profiles within the expected deliverables D3.2 and D3.4 of Work Package 3.
The workshop brought together representatives from correctional and probation institutions in Kosovo, including Sami Gashi, Director of the Dubrava Correctional Center within the Kosovo Correctional Service; Dashnim Osmani, Head of the Unit for Programs, Regimes, Education, and Social Affairs at the Lipjan Correctional Center; Adem Shala, Head of the MDA Division at the Kosovo Probation Service; and Merita Syla, Head of the Division for the Treatment of Prisoners and Juveniles and for Social Affairs at the Kosovo Probation Service.
One of the key achievements announced during the workshop was that one of the project’s training and research centers in the Western Balkans will be established at AAB College, thereby strengthening professional and institutional capacities in the field of correctional education.
The workshop concluded with the confirmation of broad institutional support and the recognized importance of the project results for the development of juvenile justice in Kosovo.
