Vlora Sopi

Vlora Sopi was born on October 11, 1979, in Prishtina, Kosovo. She has extensive experience in the field of nursing, with a well-established career at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK), where she currently serves as the Head Nurse at the Pediatric Clinic and is a member of the Steering Council at the Chamber of Nurses and Other Health Professionals.

Her career at UCCK began in 1999 when she was employed as a nurse in the Pediatric Clinic’s Admission Department, a position she held until 2011. During this time, she was responsible for admitting and preparing patients for medical examinations, monitoring their condition, and managing appointments.

Since May 2011, she has held the position of Head Nurse of the Pediatric Endocrinology Department. For over nine years in this department, she managed the nursing staff and oversaw the supply of consumables and medical medications. She has also been involved in the management of children with diabetes in the Republic of Kosovo and contributed to educating children and families on disease management.

Currently, Vlora Sopi serves as the Head Nurse at the Pediatric Clinic within the University Clinical Center of Kosovo. In this position, she coordinates the work of nurses, assigns tasks according to patient care needs, and ensures that nursing service standards are met. She also develops training programs for staff advancement and collaborates with other clinical teams to improve the quality of services within the Pediatric Clinic.

Simultaneously, she is also part of the Chamber of Nurses and Other Health Professionals, where she has held the position of Member of the Steering Council since 2023. In this role, she contributes to drafting and supervising professional policies, plays a role in decision-making, represents nurses nationally and internationally, promotes the professional development of nurses, and supports the promotion of workplace ethics.

Regarding her education, Vlora Sopi completed her primary and secondary schooling in Prishtina. She graduated from ‘Dr. Ali Sokoli’ Medical High School in 1998. She continued her education at AAB College in Prishtina, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Child Care and Welfare (2010–2013). She further added another Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (2016–2019) and later a Master’s degree in Health Sector Management (2016–2018).

Her academic involvement led her to engage with AAB College, where in 2019 she began her career as a Teaching Assistant for the course ‘Fundamentals of Nursing’. She also joined as a lecturer in the Nursing Program, where she continues to contribute today. Her work with students has consistently received top evaluations for her innovative, practical, and active engagement of students in Medical Sciences, Nursing Direction.

She has continued her academic development by actively participating in various national and international conferences and congresses. She has attended several professional trainings and has been certified by institutions such as the Ministry of Health, the Association of Oncologists of Kosovo, the Telemedicine Center, and the Global Fund against Tuberculosis. Notable mentions include her participation in the “National Congress of Midwives 2025” in Tirana, Albania, as well as the International Congress organized by the NGO ‘Continuous Health Training’.

As an active lecturer, she has participated in lectures within the “Continuous Professional Education” program accredited by the Chamber of Nurses of Kosovo (CNK) with the topic: “Determinants of Job Satisfaction Among Nurses at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo” in 2023. In the same program, she presented the topic “Juvenile Diabetic Ketoacidosis – A Case Study” in 2025.

At the “2nd International Congress of CNK”, she presented a scientific research paper entitled “Analysis of the Impact of Motivational Factors on Job Satisfaction of Nurses in the Pediatric Clinic at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo” in 2024.

In terms of publications, Vlora Sopi has published her scientific research titled “Determinants of Job Satisfaction Among the Nurses of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo” in the journal Thesis and has been cited by other authors.

Additionally, she collaborated on the scientific research by Prof. Dr. Bashkim Gllareva titled: “A National Cross-Sectional Study from the Republic of Kosovo on Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) to Evaluate the Vaccination Status of Children Between 12 and 24 Months of Age During 2018 to 2020”. Vlora Sopi’s professional and academic activity does not stop here. She continues to raise the voice of nurses through media. In an interview on Kosovo Television Channel (KTV) on the occasion of Nurses’ Day, Vlora highlighted the problems, challenges, and responsibilities in the world of nursing.

Recently, Vlora Sopi went on a study visit to Croatia together with the Steering Council of CNK, with the aim of exchanging experiences and professional practices with the Croatian Chamber of Nurses.

Vlora Sopi possesses advanced basic knowledge in technology and a good level of English proficiency.

In addition to her professional, academic, and scientific side, Vlora Sopi is a mother of two children.
