The International Scientific Conference on Architecture took place at AAB College, as part of the Prishtina Architecture and Arts Festival 2018, which is being held for the first time in the country and the region.
During the opening of the conference, the Rector of AAB College, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Tafa, said that AAB College since its establishment has paid special attention to parallel learning and the scientific component as the best way to increase the quality of studies.
“The Faculty of Architecture has had distinguished scientific conferences, bringing the best experts and lecturers from Europe and the USA. The novelty of this conference is that its focus is on a territory which, despite of its cultural diversity in the region, is still a territory that for centuries has created a unique identity that is worthwhile and should be studied comprehensively; this is what this Festival of Architecture and Arts of Prishtina is in its first edition and what it plans to be in the coming annual editions.” said Tafa.
In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Bekim Çeko said that this conference aims to discuss issues in various topics, seeking alternative contemporary solutions.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Mr. Burbuqe Bakia- Deva, described the works of this conference as of great importance for the Albanian architecture, emphasizing that for the Government of Kosovo, this is one of the most important fields of study.
“The sound of the country means a lot for this event. I believe that the topics that will be addressed today will be of great importance to our work in the future. The fact that these interrelated art values based on architecture are addressed and discussed in this conference means that the aim is also to raise and promote cultural diversity. For us, as the Government of Kosovo and for the Ministry of Culture, it is a priority in itself.” said Deva.
The Architecture Conference, organized within the PAAF 2018, unveiled the project of the American Embassy in Kosovo to the participants.
The conference was attended by a large number of academics and experts in this field, from the US, Italy, Slovenia, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey and Kosovo.
