The fifth edition of the only international theater festival in the country, Prishtina International Theater Festival – PITF2021, closed with a festive awards ceremony.

In this edition that ran from November 29, 2021 to December 4, 2021, 5 out of the 7 performances were in official competition for the festival awards.

Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Albania and Northern Macedonia performed in this edition of PITF.

The professional jury composed of Enver Petrovci, Gresa Pallaska and Tome Stanovski, awarded the following participants:

• The award for best supporting role went to actress Lemana Binjoš, from the Regional Theater of Novi Pazar;
• The award for best director went to Fatos Berisha, who directed the Black Box show with the Migjeni Theater troupe from Albania;
• The award for best play went to “when you gaze long into the abyss”, from Serbia;
• The main prize of the festival, the one for the best actor, was shared by two Turkish actresses Burcu Görek and Dilara Gül, for the play “I woke up with no voice”.

In addition to the festival’s main jury awards, two awards were given for best performance by the media jury and the student jury.

According to the media jury, the award for best play went to the play “Black Box” by the Migjeni Theater from Shkodra, Albania, whereas the students praised the play “Helver’s night” by the Temple Theater in Northern Macedonia.

The fifth edition of PITF was dedicated to the life and work of the now deceased director, Burbuqe Berisha, who was the artistic director of the Prishtina International Theater Festival.
