Milo Đukanović, President of Montenegro and first-time visitor of Kosovo, today was honored with the International Award for Human Rights by AAB College, for the reception and accommodation of refugees from Kosovo during the 1999 war and the contribution in improving civil rights in Montenegro.

On this occasion, the Montenegrin President held a lecture in the AAB Theater “Faruk Begolli” for students and other attendees on the topic “Montenegro as a factor of stability in the region.” After receiving the award from the rector of AAB College, Bujar Demjaha, the Montenegrin President, expressed his gratitude for this welcoming reception.

“I have the special pleasure and privilege that during my two-day visit to Kosovo, I get to meet with you and visit this prestigious college, which has helped many new generations in the field of education, not only in Kosovo, but throughout Western Balkans as well. I want to wish you success in this mission in the future as well. “As for the award you handed me, I have always seen these awards as further encouragement. Thank you for all the kind words for Montenegro as well” said President Milo Đukanović.

Prominent public figures, presidents, congressmen, ambassadors, etc. regularly visit AAB College, which means our students have had the opportunity to listen to lectures by the most famous European and world figures, but the arrival of President Đukanović for the first time in Kosovo and at AAB College can be considered a historic event and a special privilege for AAB College.

Today’s lecture by Montenegrin President Milo Đukanović was followed by a question-and-answer session, where Mr. Đukanović answered the students’ questions. For those who missed the ceremony live, you can watch it tonight from 19:30 on ATV.
