AAB College beneficiary of the “EU Progress Report” project to strengthen studies on European integration in Kosovo

AAB College has been awarded the project “Kosovo’s EU Progress Report: Assessing Challenges and Opportunities on the Road to Integration”, funded by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Actions program, with the aim of advancing studies on the European Union and the Kosovo integration process. The three-year project will be implemented within the Faculty of Economics and Public Administration, under the leadership of Prof. Shkumbin Misini and Prof. Agron Mustafa, and will contribute to the education of students and the public on the reforms, challenges and opportunities related to Kosovo’s path towards the EU.

Project Goals

The project addresses the need to increase academic and public understanding of Kosovo’s European integration process, through three main pillars:

• Development of a two-semester elective course on the “Kosovo Progress Report”, which will address the main areas of reforms in justice, education, economy and health.
• Student-led research, which will analyze progress and gaps in the implementation of EU recommendations through research projects and public presentations.
• Drafting a practical guide on Kosovo’s European integration process, which will summarize the main findings of the progress report, the necessary reforms and EU standards in an accessible format for students, policymakers and the general public.

Project impact and practical implementation

This project will directly contribute to building academic capacities and strengthening the dialogue between higher education, policymakers and civil society. The students involved will gain analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of European integration processes, while the research results will serve as a valuable resource for policymaking and institutional development.

In addition, the project will include public lectures by European integration experts, awareness-raising sessions with students and journalists, as well as a closing conference where the main findings and recommendations for future reforms will be presented.

New course from the project

After the end of the funding period, the course will be permanently integrated into the AAB College curriculum, ensuring the continuity of education in the field of European studies. Also, the practical guide and the online platform of the project will remain open resources for the public and will be updated annually with new data from the EU progress reports on Kosovo.

This is the third Jean Monnet project implemented by AAB College, after the modules “EU Impact in Kosovo” and “EU Business Law”, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to promoting European values ​​and standards in higher education in Kosovo.
