AAB College student from the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Akil Gjakova, has been declared the Sportsman of the Year by the Kosovo Olympic Committee, as a result of his extraordinary achievements during the 2024 competitions.

Earlier this year, Akil Gjakova participated in the Paris Grand Slam, where he won the bronze medal in the up to 73 kilogram category.

While at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Akil Gjakova represented Kosovo in the up to 73 kilogram category. He achieved important victories over Daniel Cargni (Brazil), Samuel Gassner (Austria) and Manuel Lombardo (Italy).
