Bleron Azizi, Lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry of AAB College, recently received the award for the best doctoral dissertation for 2018 at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Zagreb.

His doctoral dissertation “Evaluation of the antimicrobial efficacy of different types of photodynamic therapy in the main pathogenic bacteria of peri-implant in vitro”, has been rated by experts in this field as the best among many other researches.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) against a bacterial suspension prepared by three different bacterial species in titanium and zirconium dental implants and to analyze possible changes in implant surfaces as a result of aPDT.

Bleron Azizi completed his doctoral studies in 2018 at the University of Zagreb at the age of 28, becoming the youngest doctor of science in this field.
