In an extraordinary concert, the talented artists Dina Bušić and Melita Ivković from Zara, Croatia enchanted the audience at the Chamber Theater of AAB College. Through the song, they reflected the rich musical heritage of the Arban community.

Dina Bušić and Melita Ivković have dedicated their art to reviving and preserving the almost forgotten songs of the Arbënesh, the community that has enriched the culture of our region. Their project, “Bërbili (Slavuj) – Forgotten Songs of the Arbnesh residents of Zara”, gives new life to the ancient melodies brought to Zara from Lake Shkodra in the early 18th century.

In collaboration with renowned musicians Edin Karamazov, Miroslav Tadić and Yvette Holzwarth, Dina and Melita combine tradition with innovation, creating a unique musical experience. Their work not only preserves these historic songs, but also infuses them with contemporary elements, ensuring their relevance and vitality for future generations.

Their performance was a testament to the enduring power of music to connect us to our roots, our history and to each other.
