Aims and profile of the study program

The MSc program in Health Management is designed to equip students with advanced competencies in research methodology, healthcare leadership, policy development, and institutional management. Through a multidisciplinary curriculum, students develop strong analytical skills, decision-making competencies, and strategic thinking, enabling them to address critical issues such as healthcare financing, quality assurance, human resource management, and digital health integration.

Structured around modern developments in health systems and market needs, the program spans two years and four semesters, offering 120 ECTS credits. In the first year, students gain a solid foundation in scientific research methodology, statistics, healthcare system organization and regulation, ethics and deontology, and change and innovation management. Specialized courses such as healthcare marketing and conflict management prepare students to tackle sector-specific challenges effectively.

The second year deepens expertise in leadership, healthcare economics, human resource management, and quality management in healthcare, alongside emerging fields such as health information technology, financial management, and digital tools in healthcare systems. The curriculum also addresses legal frameworks and EU health policy dimensions, equipping graduates with a comprehensive understanding of both national and international health governance.

Mission statement

The mission of the MSc program in Health Management is: “through a student-centered approach, the program aims to prepare competitive professionals for the management of healthcare institutions, by providing advanced knowledge and scientific research skills, who will be able to critically analyze, make evidence-based decisions, and lead effective activities in a dynamic environment, thereby contributing to the delivery of sustainable, high-quality, and accessible healthcare services and improving the healthcare system in Kosovo and beyond”.

Admission to studies

According to Article 6 of the Regulation on Master Studies, all candidates who have completed their Bachelor’s degree, having earned at least 180 ECTS or 240 ECTS credits may enroll in Master’s studies. The conditions for admission to Master’s studies are as follows:

Number of study places

The number of study places according to the decision of the KAA is 100 students per academic year.

Recognition of qualifications

Per the Regulation for Master’s Studies at AAB College, recognition of qualifications and transfer of studies are governed by Articles 9, 10, and 11 of this regulation. These articles outline the conditions, criteria, and procedures for admitting students from other higher education institutions, the transfer process, and the recognition and equivalence of previously studied courses.

Studies in the MSc program in Health Management last 2 years, 120 ECTS, with a total of 4 semesters.

Level and Academic Degree

Upon completion of studies, students earn the academic title Master of Science in Health Management.

Employment Prospects of Students

Graduates of the MSc in Health Management program have broad employment opportunities as department, clinic, and hospital leaders, as well as in managerial positions within public and private healthcare institutions. They may also work as managers, coordinators, or supervisors in companies and organizations that provide healthcare-related services, as well as in public institutions, health insurance agencies, and international healthcare organizations.

Assessment methods

At the Master’s level in Health Management, students’ achievements are evaluated not only based on fulfilling academic learning outcomes but also on their preparedness for professional practice in the healthcare sector. The institutional approach encourages the use of a variety of assessment methods that are relevant to healthcare management. Learning outcomes are assessed through a combination of summative and formative assessment tools, as outlined below: Final Exams, Oral Exams, Research and Analytical Projects, Presentations, Field Projects, Master’s Thesis, Reflective Journals, Quizzes, etc.
