The Master’s program in Health Management is a second cycle program according to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF – European Higher Education Area, EHEA), and level 7 according to EQF and the Kosovo Qualifications Framework. Master studies are oriented towards in-depth studies of specific issues as study objects of these programs. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency Manual, during the development of this program, AAB has ensured that the level of competencies and skills acquired by students aligns with the descriptors of the National Qualifications Framework. The program is implemented based on the “Regulation for organizing Master studies” of AAB College.

Upon completion of studies students earn the title: Master of Science (MSc) in Health Management.
The Master’s studies in Health Management last two (2) years, with a total of six (6) semesters and are credited with 120 ECTS. ECTS credits are calculated based on the student workload of 40 hours per week, including all forms of learning, documented in the module descriptions below. During one year, a student must accumulate 60 ECTS in order to complete that year.
This course aims to equip students with the fundamental basics of scientific research and enable them to apply these in the master’s thesis project proposals in health management. Acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in research methodology will strengthen managerial competencies, allowing evidence-based decision-making. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Offer the most recent and important literature related to scientific research, with emphasis on the field of health management.
-Develop critical and analytical skills in reading scientific literature, encouraging the evaluation of the quality of existing studies.
-Focus on practical skills for: selecting the appropriate sample; determining the type of research; data collection methods; designing and processing databases; writing scientific articles according to international standards.
-Enable students to independently write a scientific project proposal that meets academic and professional requirements in health management.
The main goal of the Basics of Statistics course is to enable students with theoretical, conceptual, and analytical knowledge for solving concrete problems in the field and interpreting various phenomena and occurrences where the application of statistics and statistical tools is necessary. Specific objectives of the course are:
-To enable students to calculate arithmetic means.
-To understand the creation of tables and graphs and be able to interpret the results.
-To develop problem-solving skills using statistical tools.
-To use the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for statistical data analysis.
-To acquire necessary knowledge in statistics for further studies in economic programs for relevant subjects.
This course aims for students to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills that will enable the building of managerial competencies related to the organization and functioning of the health system, contributing to the improvement of its performance. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Increase knowledge related to key concepts of health system performance, actors, dynamics, and development challenges in the dynamic contexts of health systems.
-Present documents, reports, and relevant sources to understand the basics of the organization and functioning of the health system.
-Develop analytical skills in measuring, monitoring, and communicating the performance of the health system, respectively health institutions.
-Enable students to independently define the framework for measuring the performance of the health system/health institution in order to improve performance.
This course aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge regarding moral issues in medical practice, as well as to create a factual opinion among students that the application of rules of morality and medical deontology is essential for the development of proper medical practice. Familiarization with ethical principles and medical deontology. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Create continuous knowledge among students in medical profiles that moral principles, although some are not legally mandatory, must be respected during their work as health professionals.
-Offer students the most recent and relevant scientific literature related to Ethics and Medical Deontology.
-Develop analytical skills regarding the work methods of health institutions and services, the approach of health professionals to patients, families, and third parties, as well as the content of ethical principles and deontological rules.
-Enable students to independently analyze developments in the awareness and culture of health professionals concerning the social importance of moral principles and the functional importance of applying and respecting medical legislation to improve the quality of health services.
This course aims to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of marketing applied to health. This course helps students develop competencies for analyzing and managing marketing processes related to health institutions, focusing on the specifics of the healthcare sector, services, and their promotion in the market. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Introduce students to the basics and key concepts of marketing applied to health, including how markets and patient groups function.
-Enable students to analyze and manage marketing processes in the health sector by applying strategies adapted to health services.
-Develop skills for planning and implementing marketing campaigns that improve awareness and patient access to health services.

-Present the basic needs for planning an information system (resources and capacities), as well as the parameters to be considered when planning an information system.

The main goal of this course is to provide students with knowledge, skills, and competencies to understand the quality of healthcare services, the ways to measure healthcare service quality in health institutions, assess healthcare service quality, and understand models for improving healthcare service quality. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Introduce instruments for improving healthcare service quality, mobilize human and other resources within the institution to improve healthcare quality, and implement these in concrete improvement projects.
This course aims to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in financial management of healthcare institutions, focusing on processes such as planning, budgeting, cost analysis, and financial control, aiming to improve financial sustainability and efficiency of services. Students will develop practical skills to make strategic decisions based on in-depth financial analyses and communicate professionally and effectively with stakeholders. Specifically, this course aims to:
-Introduce students to the processes of planning, executing, managing, and reporting finances in healthcare institutions.
-Develop theoretical and practical skills for managing finances in healthcare organizations, including revenues, capital investments, analyses, and financial reporting.
-Equip students with necessary knowledge for effective financial management in these institutions.
-Enable students to analyze operational expenses, cash flow, and budget management to improve efficiency and financial sustainability of healthcare services.
The general objective is to develop the competencies (knowledge and skills) necessary to plan, evaluate, and manage project implementation effectively, following different methodologies and international standards. More specifically, this course aims to:
-Introduce students to the basic and general concepts of the process of planning, writing, managing, controlling, and evaluating projects, as well as the most effective methodologies, techniques, and tools for Project Management.
-Develop students’ theoretical and practical knowledge and know-how in generating, developing, structuring, and managing projects, through practical treatment of contemporary project management skills, concepts, and methodologies.

-Deepen understanding of the clinical audit process: Teach students step-by-step how to conduct a clinical audit, including selecting the audit topic, setting criteria, data collection, and analyzing results.

Skills of a student in occupational medicine within health management include a combination of medical knowledge and practical skills important for maintaining and promoting health in the workplace, a key factor for better performance of healthcare institutions. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Understand body functions and diseases related to occupation, professional exposures, and risk factors.
-Analyze the work environment and identify health risks for workers such as exposure to chemicals, noise, ergonomic stress, etc.
-Understand preventive measures for occupational diseases and promote a healthy lifestyle for workers.
The aim of this course is to equip students with contemporary and critical knowledge about new directions in which the healthcare system is developing globally and locally. The course aims to help students understand the factors driving changes in healthcare and prepare them to manage the challenges and opportunities arising from these trends in managerial and decision-making practice. Specifically, the course aims to:
-Analyze structural and functional changes occurring in healthcare systems in response to demographic, epidemiological, and technological developments.
-Develop skills for effective management of health and non-health processes in a continuously transforming system.
-Examine the role of information technology and artificial intelligence in improving healthcare, including data management, digitalization, and telemedicine.
