FACULTY OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION HOLDS LECTURE ON INTEGRITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR

As part of its academic activities, the Faculty of Public Administration at AAB College organized a lecture for students on the topic: “Integrity and Accountability in the Public Sector: Utilizing Open Data and Digital Platforms to Identify Corruption Risks.”

The lecture was delivered by Ms. Diana Metushi-Krasniqi, representative of the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), and aimed to provide students with a practical and applicable introduction to modern methods for identifying and addressing risks of corruption and undue political influence in public administration, through data analysis and public monitoring.

During the session, students learned about:

• Methods for finding and using reliable data sources for analysis and decision-making
• Utilizing open data to understand institutional trends and behaviors, including public expenditures, repeat beneficiaries, and year-to-year changes
• Using digital platforms, such as Integrity Watch Kosovo, regional and EU platforms, for early identification of “red flags” related to undue political influence, conflicts of interest, and other governance risks

The lecture was conducted in an interactive format, incorporating practical examples and open discussions, demonstrating how these tools and approaches can be applied by students in courses related to good governance, public policy, public financial management, and procurement administration.
