Cryptocurrency is a type of digital currency that usually only exists electronically.
People use cryptocurrency for fast payments, to avoid transaction fees that regular banks charge, or for reasons of anonymity.
Others hold cryptocurrencies as an investment, hoping that their value increases over time.
Cryptocurrency is stored in a digital wallet, which can be online, on a computer or external drive.
But if something unexpected happens, such as sending the cryptocurrency to the wrong person, losing the digital wallet password, or the digital wallet being stolen or compromised, then we will probably never be able to find those funds again.
This happens because usually, the transfer of cryptocurrencies is done directly, without an intermediary such as a bank, so we often have no one to turn to if we encounter a problem.
We will touch on all these subjects in the next workshop with one of the biggest blockchain experts in the region, which will be held online on May 17 at 20:00.
Also, in this workshop we will learn how to create a cryptocurrency.
