International Staff Week – Roundtable and workshop organized for higher education institutions

During the third day of the International Week, a keynote roundtable and a workshop on the topic “Internationalization as a Way to Advance Higher Education” were organized. These special activities aimed to deepen discussions on the role of internationalization in the development of higher education institutions and to promote international cooperation.

Vice-Rector Llunji focused on the importance of integrating international elements into academic processes, including international partnerships, student and staff exchanges, and the use of digital technology to expand global educational opportunities. International partners also shared their experiences in this important aspect.

After the roundtable, a workshop on the topic “Sustainability in Higher Education: Building Sustainable Institutions for a Global Future” was organized, led by the Director of the Projects Office Ilirjana Geci and the coordinator Erëza Mehmeti.

This special session focused on developing sustainable practices within universities, addressing issues of resource management, climate change and social responsibility. Participants discussed innovative strategies to build sustainable institutions that are able to adapt to future global challenges.

During the events, meetings with deans were also held. These meetings aimed to discuss the implementation of sustainability strategies, improve internationalization initiatives and foster inter-institutional collaborations. The main objective was to strengthen institutional capacities and share experiences for the future of sustainable and globalized higher education.

These activities within the framework of the International Week demonstrate the commitment to shaping the future of higher education by integrating international perspectives and sustainable practices.
