To celebrate International Translation Day 2025, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at AAB College will organize a roundtable discussion on 29 September at 11:00, at the AAB Media Center.
Participants and Purpose
The roundtable will bring together representatives from public and private translation offices in Kosovo, professional translators, linguists, and professors. The event will highlight the importance of translation, interpreting, and translation studies in academia and professional practice.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Antony Hoyte-West
The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Antony Hoyte-West, an international scholar specializing in translation studies, linguistics, and literature. He is the author of more than 100 academic publications, including 41 indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.
Dr. Hoyte-West has presented his research at over 70 international conferences in 22 countries, and serves on the editorial and advisory boards of several scholarly journals, including AAB College’s peer-reviewed academic journal, THESIS.
Academic Background
He holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Silesia in Katowice and master’s degrees in modern languages, management, Latin American studies, Slavic studies, and conference interpreting from the universities of St Andrews, Oxford, and Galway.
