Emrush Kastrati
Dr. Sc. Emrush Kastrati was born on December 12, 1958, in the village of Turjakë, Municipality of Malisheva. He completed his primary education in the village of Lubizhdë, Municipality of Malisheva, and his secondary education in the village of Kijevë, formerly in the Municipality of Klinë, now part of the Municipality of Malisheva. In 1983, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Prishtina in the general direction (https://uni-pr.edu/). In 2009, he completed his postgraduate studies and earned the scientific degree of Master of Criminal Legal Sciences, University of Prishtina – Faculty of Law, while in 2016 he completed his doctoral studies at the European University of Tirana, in Tirana with the topic: “The Criminal Act of Murder in Kosovo, with Special Focus on the Territory of the District Court in Prishtina” and earned the title Doctor of Criminal Legal Sciences, Public Law profile (https://uet.edu.al).
His experience began in KK-Rahovec as an intern from 01/12/1983–01/04/1984, then from 01/04/1984–01/06/1986, Judge at the Municipal Court for Minor Offenses in Rahovec, continuing from 01/06/1986 as President-Judge at the Municipal Court for Minor Offenses in Malisheva, and from 01.01.1988–31/12/1990 Judge-President at the Municipal Court in Malisheva. From 01/01/1992–31/12/1997, he worked as a Lawyer – Kosovo Bar Association in Malisheva, and from 01/09/2000–30/11/2004, Judge – Municipal Court in Malisheva, then from 01/12/2004–30/10/2010, President – Municipal Court in Malisheva. From 15/12/2010–10/09/2012, Senior Legal Officer – Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kosovo, and from 30/08/2012–01/08/2013, Member of the Independent Media Commission of Kosovo, Prishtina. Since 01/01/2013, he has been a Lawyer – Kosovo Bar Association, where he continues to work.
Prof. Emrush Kastrati from 01/10/2013–28/02/2017 was a Professor – ISPE College, Prishtina, and has continued his academic career as a full-time professor since 2017 at AAB University College, Faculty of Law, until 30.09.2023 when he retired, and currently continues as an Engaged Professor.
As seen, Prof. Kastrati has a dense academic activity. Since the academic year 2017, he has been a regular staff member at AAB College where he lectures in the field of Criminal Law in Bachelor and Master programs, such as Organization of the Judicial System, Criminal Procedure Law (on Saturdays) in Bachelor, previously in Master programs: Criminal Procedure Law, International Criminal Law, and Comparative Criminal Law. At the Gjakova Campus, he has taught Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law.

He is married, has two children, and lives in Prishtina.
