Gjyli Rexha

Gjyli Rexha was born in Prishtina, where she completed her primary, secondary, higher, and postgraduate education. She has over four decades of professional experience in Kosovo’s healthcare system and is one of the most distinguished figures in the field of nursing and clinical education.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from AAB College (GPA 9.3), a Master’s degree in Health Care Management from ILIRIA College (GPA 9.6), and previously graduated in Management and Informatics from the same institution (GPA 9.0). She completed her secondary education at the “Ali Sokoli” Medical High School in Prishtina with excellent success.

Since 1999, Gjyli Rexha has served as the Head Nurse at the Eye Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK). She is responsible for the clinic’s administrative management, supervision of nursing care in accordance with professional standards, organization of staff, and collaboration with medical teams to ensure coordinated patient care. She also conducts training sessions for nursing staff and coordinates health education for patients.

Since 2017, she has held the role of Clinical Mentor, supporting on-site training, leading professional discussions, and promoting continuous quality improvement in nursing practice.

In 2019, she began her engagement as an Assistant Lecturer at AAB College, where she teaches nursing and health care management, contributing to the academic and professional development of students.

Gjyli Rexha is a member of the Assembly of the Kosovo Nurses Association (KNA) and currently serves as Chairwoman of the Commission for Licensing and Re-licensing – Valorization of Nurses and Midwives. She actively participated in workshops organized by the KNA for drafting licensing and re-licensing regulations, contributing to the update of professional standards in the field.

She regularly attends accredited professional continuing education trainings organized by AAB College and recognized by the Kosovo Nurses Association. She has also completed the course on competency-based student assessment and grading, offered by the Center for Professional Skills and Innovation at AAB College.

Moreover, she actively participates in tertiary-level professional lectures at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, sharing her experience and supporting the professional development of healthcare staff.

Early in her career, she worked as a nurse at UCCK (1985–1986), and later served for over a decade as Human Resources and Administration Manager at the Kosovo Energy Corporation – KEK (1986–1998), where she led key processes in personnel management and internal administration.

With extensive clinical and academic experience, professional dedication, and an active role in health and educational institutions, Gjyli Rexha remains one of the most respected professionals in the field of nursing in Kosovo.

She is married, has three children, and lives in Prishtina. Open to professional and academic collaboration.
