Dr. Skender Ali Zatriqi is an accomplished academic and medical professional with over two decades of experience in general and abdominal surgery, oncology, health management, and medical education. Born on July 27, 1968, in Prishtina, Kosovo, Dr. Zatriqi is married and a father of one. He currently resides in Prishtina and is a citizen of Kosovo.
He completed his early education in Prishtina (1980–1987), followed by medical studies at the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Medicine (1988–1997). He pursued specialization in general surgery at the University of Tirana and later at the University of Prishtina, becoming a resident in abdominal surgery.
In addition to his medical training, Dr. Zatriqi holds a Master’s degree in Surgery, a Master’s in Health Management, and a Doctorate in Surgery. His PhD thesis focused on the “Evaluation of the Mannheim Peritonitis Score in Patients with Secondary and Tertiary Peritonitis,” completed at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He is a certified expert in quality assurance and certification and accreditation systems, with training in the UK.

Dr. Zatriqi has contributed significantly during and after the war in Kosovo, working in emergency medicine, treating displaced persons, and offering humanitarian assistance. He worked at the Military Hospital of Tirana and participated in life-saving interventions under dangerous conditions.
In his clinical career, Dr. Zatriqi has rotated through several top regional centers in Tirana, Prishtina, Skopje, Sarajevo, Zagreb, and Istanbul, gaining extensive surgical training in fields including:
