The professor of the English Language Faculty at AAB College, Aleksandar Takovski, has published his latest article in the prestigious and internationally influential journal “Journal of Sociolinguistics”.
Over the years, this journal has collected publications from world-renowned names in sociolinguistics and linguistics.
The article analyzes the formative power of grandparents’ World War II stories to their grandchildren about the history of the state, the nation, and identity.
Takovski draws on narrative positioning theory to analyze the positioning practices of today’s story tellers, the grandchildren of World War II participants. Through this method of narrative, they interactively reproduce their sense of national identity.
