As part of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, the Kosovar Center for the Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors held a lecture for the students of the Faculty of Psychology at AAB College. The topic of this lecture was “Sexual violence during the war in Kosovo”, which was led by the representative of this center, Vjollca Pllana.
The purpose of the lecture was to increase awareness of the long-term effects of trauma caused by conflict-related sexual violence, as well as the impact of these traumatic experiences on individuals and on society as a whole.
In addition to the lecture, the students also watched the video that shows the first public appearance of Venesa Sulemani, one of the secondary survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo, where the intergenerational impact of trauma is addressed.
