The launch event of the “EDU-LAB” project, an initiative funded by the European Commission’s Horizon program, where AAB College is among the 11 international partners, was successfully held. In his opening remarks, the Rector of AAB College, Dr. Sc. Blerim Olluri, described the project as an important opportunity for the academic advancement and integration of young people into the labor market.

“We are proud that AAB College is part of this important initiative. This project addresses one of the most fundamental challenges we face today as academic institutions and as a society: ensuring sustainable and inclusive pathways for the assimilation, professional training and integration of young people into the labor market.”

At this event, participants had the opportunity to hear from Ms. Lucia Parducci, Programme Officer at the European Union Office in Kosovo, who spoke about the EU support for scientific advancement. Mr. Aleksandar Chvorostov, Project Manager at the “Economica” Institute for Economic Research, presented the objectives, impact and expectations of the “EDU-LAB” project. Ms. Qamile Sinanaj, National Coordinator for the Horizon Europe Programme, shared information on this programme and its impact on higher education in Kosovo.

While Prof. Venera Llunji, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at AAB College, highlighted the role and contribution of AAB College in fulfilling the Third Mission. During the event, a promotional video of the “EDU-LAB” Research Centre, established within the framework of the project, was also presented, and the work packages led by Prof. Xhavit Rexhaj, Prof. Arbëresha Qerimi, Prof. Arbërore Bicaj and Erëza Mehmeti were discussed.

Going forward, the project will focus on implementing activities that will help connect education with the labor market.
