The President of the European Athletics Association, Mr. Svein Arne Hansen, delivered a lecture today in front of the students of the Faculty of Physical Education of AAB College. He talked to the students about his goals as president of this association and said that one of his important missions is to create an athletics stadium in Kosovo.
“I see that we have a long way to go here, in Kosovo. Almost every city in Europe has a football stadium, but not an athletics stadium. The reason why I am here today is to form create stadiums that do not yet exist. This is very important to me. I will talk to politicians about this issue when I return,” said Hansen.
He also said that his goal is to support the smaller countries, because, according to him, the world’s greatest sports talents have come from small countries.
“I think that it is of vital importance to support the smaller countries. I have lent my support to countries like Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina because talent can be found in these places. We have supported various competitions. Twice or thrice a year we have events where we call on each federation to participate in them.” added Arne Hansen.
Hansen expressed his happiness for the support that Kosovo institutions are giving to athletes in Kosovo, but said that even more work needs to be done to achieve success in this sport.
