Aleksandar Takovski, professor at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, participated in the international scientific conference titled “Humour and Conflict in the Public Sphere”, organized by the Literary Museum of Estonia from September 4 to 6 in Tartu, Estonia. The conference is a concluding event in the EU-funded CELSA network project “Humour and Conflict in the Public Sphere: Communication Styles, Humorous Controversies and Contested Freedoms in Contemporary Europe”. In addition to presenting the results of the two projects, the conference welcomed presentations on the various controversial and conflicting aspects, attitudes and effects of humor in several European public spheres.
