Training for Cybersecurity

Fakulteti i Shkencave Kompjuterike

.

Objective

AAB College is organizing a workshop that will be held on March 7, 14, 21, and 28, starting at 9:00 AM.

The objective of the workshop is for participants to gain new knowledge on how computer networks function, how communication is established between a personal computer and a network device (router), and to generally learn how cyber-attacks are carried out on network devices. All of this will be done in a practical manner throughout the workshop, ensuring that the sessions are not monotonous or traditional theoretical lectures.

Additional benefits for participants include expanding their knowledge of programming languages, where in a practical and hands-on way they will learn techniques for creating software that communicates with network devices (routers) and attempts to perform a cyber-attack, specifically trying to gain unauthorized access to the device.

.

Methodology and Topics

The workshop methodology will consist of presenting and explaining the points listed above, along with real‑time practical application by the presenter. Participants will be guided through detailed steps and will be able to test all the aforementioned points on their own computers/laptops.

Topics that will be covered in the workshop – what will the participant learn?

  1. Installing the Python programming language

  2. The GNS3 network emulator and its installation

  3. Activating and configuring the virtual network device (router)

  4. Connecting and enabling communication between the Python programming language and the network device (router)

  5. Python String Array (List) data

  6. What is a “Dictionary Attack” and “Brute Force”

  7. Creating Dictionary and Brute Force Attack code in Python

  8. Possible connections between the personal computer and the router

  9. Testing the created code on the device created through the GNS3 emulator and on an actual router device

.

Application

It is recommended that participants bring their personal laptops to the workshop, in order to ensure their full engagement by immediately seeing the results of their work.
