“Women Ambassadors” – Roundtable discussion held for International Women’s Day

A roundtable discussion entitled “Women Ambassadors” was held at AAB College, in which female diplomats participated on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This roundtable was moderated by AAB College Vice-Rector Venera Llunji, while in his opening remarks, Rector Blerim Olluri said that the institution strongly advocates for gender equality and women’s leadership. He further added that the presence of ambassadors at the roundtable discussion serves as inspiration and demonstrates the crucial role that women have in shaping policies.

“AAB College stands as a strong advocate for gender equality and women’s leadership. We pride ourselves on fostering an academic and professional environment where women are not only present but also hold leadership positions. On this occasion, let us reaffirm our commitment to breaking down barriers, promoting equal opportunities, and recognizing the extraordinary contribution of women in all fields,” said Rector Olluri, among other things.

Participants in the roundtable were: H.E. Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo Danijela Barišić; H.E. Ambassador of Slovenia to Kosovo Minca Benedejčič; H.E. Ambassador of North Macedonia to Kosovo Shpresa Jusufi; Consulate General of Kosovo in New York Arta Rama, H.E. Ambassador of Kosovo to the Netherlands Vjosa Dobruna, H.E. Ambassador of Kosovo to Italy Lendita Haxhitasim, Goodwill Ambassador for Kosovo Elvana Shala and Kavya Rajan from OSCE.

The focus of the discussions was on the challenges, efforts and numerous achievements that women have made in diplomacy. The invited ambassadors shared stories, experiences and various reflections with all those present, which were related to their work to date and the contribution they have made as diplomats in different countries of the world.
