At the “Ismail Qemali” University in Vlora, the 18th international conference on “Social capital and the public sphere in contemporary society” is being held, where about 200 papers from various international and regional researchers are being presented.

The conference was organized by the Albanian Institute of Sociology in partnership with other Albanian-speaking universities in the region, in Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia.

AAB College is also a partner in the organization of this Conference. In this conference, in the plenary meeting, the vice-rector for international relations, Venera Llunji, congratulated the main organizer the Albanian Institute of Sociology, led by Lekë Sokoli, the rector and the academic staff of “Ismail Qemali” University on behalf of the rector of AAB College Lulzim Tafa, the steering council and on behalf of the entire academic staff, for their organization and hospitality, as well as the other participants who, through various papers and topics, will contribute to science and the field of academia in general, because as said by vice-rector Llunji, among other things, in such events, academic and scientific researchers meet in order to exchange experience and findings in various research.

In this conference, Furtuna Mehmeti, vice-rector for academic development was also present, who met with many representatives of the participating universities.

What made the plenary session special was the delivery of the baton from the Albanian Institute of Sociology and “Ismail Qemali” University in Vlora to AAB College, since AAB College will be the organizer and host of the next conference, which will be held on 15-16 November, 2024, which will discuss work, well-being and security in challenging times, therefore it will be titled “Well-being in Challenging Times”.
