The mission of the BA Management study program is to prepare students with competitive managerial skills for the labor market in the Kosovo region and beyond. The program aims to, through contemporary teaching methods, develop students’ knowledge and skills for management, leadership, and innovative decision-making based on factual research that provide creative solutions for the community, economic development, and society in general.
In this regard, the way the study program is organized is such that it offers students lectures and exercises within the institution as well as professional practice in the industry at the same time. In general, the program is designed in such a way that it contains some main subjects that are professional, general subjects that include the field of management, subjects in the field of business and subjects in the field of economics, then some elective subjects, which help the student to choose subjects according to his interest in different economic fields and new trends of digitalization.
Upon successfully completing the BA in Management program, students will gain in-depth knowledge of management and marketing principles and practices in various environments, including supply chain management, environmental management, and human resource management. They will be able to analyze economic theories and apply them in decision-making, risk management, and business strategy development. Additionally, they will master the use of statistical and mathematical methods for economic and managerial analysis and understand international financial and managerial accounting standards, equipping them with skills in financial and investment management.
Students will develop the ability to analyze and solve operational and strategic problems using technology and digital platforms for business management. They will become proficient in data analysis and the use of specialized software, as well as in professional communication in both their native and foreign languages for preparing reports, strategic plans, and projects. Through the academic process, students will be able to design research projects and bachelor’s thesis topics while adhering to scientific and ethical standards. They will be capable of working in teams with creativity and responsibility, applying their knowledge in practice, and developing the independence necessary for further studies and self-directed learning.
On completion of studies, the candidate earns the title Bachelor of Arts in Management.
Calculation of ECTS was done taking into consideration that students are engaged for up to 40 hours per week, including: lectures, exercises, internship, homework, consultations with professors, seminars, individual work (at library or at home) and exams or other assessment activities. During a school year, the student needs to accumulate 60 ECTS to complete the year. Based on these data, we assign ECTS individually for each course.
The Microeconomics I course aims to equip students with the basics of microeconomic theory, as a branch of economics. The focus will be on the choices and decisions that individuals and companies make under conditions of limited resources. Special attention will be paid to the market and aspects related to it, the determination of prices, and the allocation of resources.
The main purpose of the “Mathematics for Economics and Business” course is to train students in the development of critical and logical thinking for solving various mathematical problems and making decisions at the macroeconomic and microeconomic level through the use of mathematical models and specialized techniques.
The main purpose of the “English Language 1” course is to develop students’ speaking and writing skills in English in the field of economics and business. Also, it enables students to develop critical and logical thinking in formulating sentences correctly using terminology from the field of economics.
The general purpose of the course is for students to acquire the skills offered by ICT in solving various problems by using the computer. In this series, several Office Programs will be presented, which will teach you how to use them in combination with each other. The participants will be introduced to the basic skills that they will use to carry out their daily duties, from gaining basic knowledge in Windows to creating a PowerPoint presentation, basic and advanced tasks in Excel, and familiarity with the Access Database.
The main purpose of the course “Accountant in Business” is to enable students to create an overview of the structure, organization and organizational culture in business as well as to demonstrate accounting and financial functions within the business.
The course “Business Ethics” aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and analyze ethics as a vital component of business, management, and professional relationships. Through this course, students will develop the ability to reflect on ethical reasoning in business decision-making and assess the impact of ethics on organizational success.
The Macroeconomics course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of macroeconomic theories, concepts and practices, developing and advancing students’ knowledge in the field of macroeconomics as a basis that enables the functioning of a local economy as a sub-system of the global economic system.
The main goal of the “Statistics for Economy and Business” course is to equip students with theoretical, conceptual and analytical knowledge for solving concrete problems in the economic field and interpreting economic phenomena that require the application of statistics and statistical instruments.
This course aims to provide students with the necessary basic knowledge about accounting and its role in the management system of economic entities, with the basic concepts and principles used to build the accounting system to provide reliable and quality information through financial statements.
The main purpose of this course is to provide students with theoretical knowledge accompanied by practical examples, to identify the strategies and specifics of business communication messages in the age of media plurality and mediatization of society. Another goal is to enable students to use scholarly sources in composing a student essay.
Business law is an important subject for the intellectual and professional development of students, especially those who will be engaged in the business field in the future. Now more than ever, this subject has a special importance because Kosovo is going through a legal and economic transformation. For that reason, this course will prepare students to learn the legal rules applicable in Kosovo and internationally. All of them will enable students to function adequately in an evolving legal environment.
The course History of Economic Thought aims to provide students with general knowledge about the historical development of nations’ economies, focusing on different periods of political, social, and economic transition. Specifically, the course intends to enable students to understand the concept of economics and its resources in general, introduce them to the main theories of economic thought and history, and equip them with the ability to comprehend and apply these theories in today’s modern economy.
The main purpose of the “English Language 2” course is to acquire the students’ skills in speaking and writing in English in the field of economics or business. Also, it enables students to develop critical and logical thinking in formulating sentences correctly using terminology from the field of economics.
The management course is aimed at equipping students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which will enable them to build simultaneous individual and team professional competencies in the function of independent management of various businesses.
This course enables students to become familiar with the decision-making process and at the same time with risk management. Also, this course aims to prepare future managers in coping with various pressures and limitations during the decision-making process.
The subject “Financial Management” aims to provide students with the knowledge to develop the knowledge and skills expected of a financial manager, in relation to issues affecting investments, financing, and dividend policy decisions.
The Marketing course aims to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills of students, which will enable the building of competencies in the field of marketing. This includes the analysis of the specifics of the production, trade and service sectors, and the processing of specific cases related to the concept of trade and marketing.
The course Managerial Economics aims to provide students with analytical tools and economic reasoning used in managerial decision-making. It covers demand analysis, cost structures, pricing strategies, market competition, and risk analysis. Students learn to apply microeconomic principles to solve real-world business problems and improve organizational performance.
The purpose of the course is to acquire students’ knowledge of European economic integration and Kosovo’s perspective in this field, which includes historical knowledge of the European Union, European Union institutions, membership criteria, etc.
The subject “Financial Accounting” aims to provide students with knowledge and understanding of the basic principles and concepts related to financial accounting and technical ability in the use of double-entry accounting techniques, including the preparation of financial statements.
The general purpose of the course is for students to acquire the knowledge and skills that Information and Communication Systems offer in solving various problems through the use of these systems. Students will be able to build competencies that they will use for the realization of daily obligations, from the benefit of elementary knowledge about Information Systems to their practical application in the field of economic and business management.
The purpose of the Entrepreneurship and Management of SMEs course is to increase students’ basic knowledge of the operation and activity of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the role of entrepreneurs in their success, and to enable them to build competencies to independently be able to create functional ideas for business.
The Leadership course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge of leadership and its impact on organizational behavior and individuals, analyzing the main theories on leadership, internal and external factors that influence the leadership process.
The International Business course aims to equip students with theoretical and practical knowledge for business development in global markets. Students learn to analyze growth opportunities, create business plans, and apply technology to gain competitive advantages, preparing them to pursue international careers and respond effectively to global business dynamics.
This course aims to provide students with knowledge on the principles and challenges of globalization and its impact on global business. Students develop understanding of global trends, the role of international actors and businesses, confront challenges and opportunities, and are encouraged to apply their knowledge in practice through case study writing.
The subject Public Finance aims to acquire theoretical and basic knowledge in the field of public finance, the state budget, the definition, characteristics and types of fiscal and non-fiscal revenues, applicable in a state historically and currently.
The subject “Environmental Management” allows students to gain general knowledge about Environmental Management Systems. The subject in question creates ideas for the presentation and implementation of environmental policies, planning, operation and control of hot issues such as global warming, pollution, deforestation, soil erosion, landfills or depletion of the Earth’s natural resources. Environmental Management covers topics such as resource management, geography, environmental science and more.
The main goal of the “Operations Management” course is to equip students with knowledge of the principles and practices of managing operations in both manufacturing and service companies. Students learn the role of operations managers, analyze practical cases, and develop skills to make independent decisions related to operational activities and performance.
The main goal of the course is to present the importance of accounting information as a managerial decision-making tool. Students gain basic knowledge on cost analysis, budgeting and resource control, and are encouraged to use statistical techniques to support decision-making processes within a business environment.
This subject enables students to become familiar with the complicated problem of human resource management, understood as the process of realizing some activities and functions. The subject aims to prepare for the most efficient use of human resources as the most important resources in an organization. Of course, being a complicated matter due to human resources, the course also focuses on ethical references related to this important part of management.
The main purpose of the course is to inform students with practical aspects of the dynamic and changing work environment and to train them with soft skills for direct communication with employers.
The subject “E-Business” aims to study the impact of digital technology on business strategies based on national, regional and global market requirements. The subject course is based on the transition of the classic system of doing business to the digital system based on global trends, making it easier for entrepreneurs to access the global market through the technology system.
The course “Artificial Intelligence in Business” aims to provide students with fundamental knowledge of the development, functioning, and application of artificial intelligence in business operations. Students learn the basic concepts of AI, how it interacts with other systems, and how it is applied in business decision-making.
The purpose of the course “Supply Chain Management” is to develop students’ knowledge of the importance of timely supply of business and consumer goods as well as global economy chain management in general by stimulating critical thinking on the topics of economic reasoning, business negotiations and the use of knowledge and skills in practice.
The course is designed to help students develop their research, inquiry and communication skills while providing a road map for their future career in marketing or international business. This course will provide students with an overview of career opportunities in marketing and international business.
The general goal is to create skills (knowledge and abilities) to plan, evaluate and manage the implementation of projects effectively according to different methodologies and international standards.
The purpose of the “Strategic Management” course is for students to gain knowledge from the field of Strategic Management and to apply these acquired knowledge and skills in the future in the workplace where they work and in society in general.
The course aims to enable students to cover research methodology and related terminology; defining and developing the general steps to write a scientific research paper, from defining research topics, preparing a research project, reviewing the literature, determining the research design, population and relevant sample, selecting and defining measuring instruments and data collection, analyzing and interpreting data, drafting a research report, and even evaluating this report, are accompanied by practical tasks that take place in parallel with academic preparation of students.
The main purpose of this course is to provide advanced learning on knowledge and innovation in general, the mode of innovation, important factors and economic and social consequences. The main focus of this course is the practices and processes used by entrepreneurs and managers to effectively manage innovation in either developing or existing organizations. This course will mainly provide basic knowledge for carrying out theories related to innovation in a specific context and its phases.
The main purpose of the course “Organizational Behavior” is to train students in the development of critical and logical thinking for solving various problems in the organization and making decisions at the level of managing situations through the use of models, methods and concrete examples from the lectures and exercises of the course.
The main purpose of the course is to inform students and provide them with basic knowledge about legal requirements related to taxes and commercial aspects of enterprises in Kosovo. Also, this syllabus aims to give students knowledge about the principles and technical areas of taxes and commercial laws, as they affect the activities of individuals and businesses in Kosovo.
The course “Information and Digital Economy” aims to equip students with knowledge about how information and digitalization affect businesses and markets. Students explore key concepts and trends in the digital economy, examine practical case studies, and develop the ability to select appropriate ICT tools for managing digital businesses.
The general purpose of the course is to enable students to know the structure, functions, operations and role of financial institutions such as banks and non-bank financial institutions (pension funds, insurance companies and investment funds) within the overall financial and economic system.
