Aims and profile of the study program
The BA Program in Physical Culture and Sport aims to equip students with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in the field of physical culture and sport, while developing their abilities for independent work and continuous professional development.
At the same time, the program encourages students’ engagement in critical thinking and problem-solving based on scientific research through involvement in projects, debates, and conferences, and encourages them to contribute innovative ideas to community well-being and the promotion of physical and mental health, while also cultivating ethical competencies and technological skills for effective communication and collaboration.
The objectives of the BA program in Physical Culture and Sports are as follows:
- Equip students with a strong foundation in the principles and practices of physical culture and sports and build skills for autonomous work and lifelong development of students.
- Enable students to engage in critical discussions and problem-solving based on scientific evidence and research by actively involving them in research projects and encouraging participation in roundtables, debates, and conferences.
- Enable students to engage in initiatives, projects, and the development of innovative ideas that contribute to the well-being of diverse community groups, emphasizing the role of physical activity in maintaining both physical and mental health.
- Cultivate ethical competencies and technological skills that enhance effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.
Mission statement
The mission of the BA program in Physical Culture and Sports is to “provide quality, student-centered education that prepares future professionals who lead transformative processes in physical education, professional sports development, and public health improvement. Through scientific facts, applied research, innovative projects and creative solutions, the program equips students with the knowledge, skills, and competences necessary to promote physical well-being and drive positive change within diverse communities”.

Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the BA program in Physical Culture and Sports, students will have acquired the following knowledge, skills, and competencies:
Knowledge
- define the basic concepts of the profession, principles and laws related to the bio-psycho-social development of children of different age groups;
- design exercise programs adapted to improve health and fitness parameters, based on a complex understanding of theoretical processes (training theory, anatomical, physiological, biomechanical, psychological, sociological).
- implement diagnostic procedures for measuring and assessing the state of psychosomatic characteristics in the service of designing programs for transformative processes;
- analyze the use of tools, technology and information sources needed in the teaching and training process;
- manage organizational and managerial tasks in various sports organizations by assessing professional ethics, healthy attitudes, values and safe behaviors;
- critically analyze scientific literature, use adequate research methods to address the solution of real problems related to the profession;
Skills
- communicate effectively and demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, read and write analytically, and present relevant information clearly and concisely to different audiences;
- use critical thinking skills to analyze problems and provide solutions to issues related to the profession;
- demonstrate successful project management skills, organizing and promoting initiatives in the service of promoting health through physical activity, nutrition, and sports;
Competencies
- work independently and as part of a team in a variety of contexts related to education and training programs for different categories and age groups, demonstrating a high level of responsibility for themselves and others;
- become part of interdisciplinary initiatives and groups with the aim of designing and leading projects that contribute to improving the quality of life and promoting health in different communities;
Admission to studies
Bachelor studies have the right to enrol all those candidates who have completed secondary education, possess the necessary documentation, and fulfil the minimum admission criteria determined by the Senate. According to Article 5 of the Regulations for Bachelor Studies, the conditions for admission to Bachelor studies are:
- successful completion of primary and secondary school with at least 12 years of schooling certified by a relevant diploma;
- successful completion of the National Matura Test according to the criteria defined by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, which is proven by relevant evidence;
- successful completion of the selection procedure;
- completion of the file with formal documentation as defined by MEST.
Number of study places
The number of study places, according to the decision of the KAA, is 100 students per academic year.
Recognition of qualifications
According to the Regulations for Bachelor Studies at AAB College, the recognition of qualifications and the transfer of studies are governed by Articles 6, 7, and 8 of these regulations.
These articles outline the conditions, criteria, and procedures for admitting students from other higher education institutions, as well as the process for transferring and recognizing previously completed courses and determining their equivalence.
Duration of studies and workload
Studies in the BA Program in Physical Culture and Sport last 4 years, 240 ECTS, with a total of 8 semesters.
Level and Academic Degree
Upon completion of studies, the student earns the academic title Bachelor of Arts in Physical Culture and Sport.

Assessment methods
A variety of assessment methods are used to evaluate student achievement, combining continuous (formative) and final (summative) assessment. These include written exams, quizzes, essays, project work, case studies, oral presentations, and reflective reports, as well as the evaluation of class participation, group work, and communication skills. Students are also assessed through independent work such as internships, consulting, or simulations that involve research, analysis, and practical application. In addition, practical performance is evaluated through structured exercise sessions that assess technical, tactical, and analytical skills in sports disciplines.

Student rights
Students at AAB College, in accordance with the Statute and the Regulation for BA Studies, have the right to:
- Attend lectures and participate in academic activities
- Access university services, including the library and internet
- Be represented in student bodies
- Organize non-political associations
- Receive official student documents
- Obtain a diploma upon completion of their studies
Additionally, students have the right to submit complaints and requests regarding any aspect of the teaching process, assessment, or any other issues that they believe may hinder their academic development and well-being while studying at the college.
Student Participation in Quality Assurance Processes
At AAB College, students are considered equal partners in the design, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance processes. They actively participate in every working group or workshop that discusses policymaking, strategic planning, and decision-making. Specifically, students engage in quality assurance procedures through the following activities:
- students assess the academic staff and teaching content
- students assess administrative services and infrastructure
- students are full members in academic and decision-making bodies of the college
- students participate in committees and working groups
- students are involved in drafting, completing, and reviewing study programs
- students provide continuous input on all matters affecting students and the college
