Shemsedin Vehapi

Shemsedin Vehapi was born on January 15, 1972, and is of Albanian nationality.

Professional Experience

From 2013 to 2023, Shemsedin Vehapi served as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at AAB College, Kosovo. In this senior administrative role, he was responsible for the evaluation, development, and implementation of academic programs, as well as drafting reports and recommendations to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Earlier in his career, from 2003 to 2009, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Prishtina. His responsibilities included preparing and conducting exercises for different groups, designing and grading tests and exams, providing feedback and evaluations for student papers, and creating teaching materials to enhance the learning experience.

Since 2009, he has held the position of Professor of Teaching Methodology in Physical Education at AAB College and the University of Prishtina. In this role, he manages the classroom environment, plans and delivers lessons for different age groups and class levels, and prepares exams and assessments.

From 2005 to 2009, Shemsedin Vehapi served as Coordinator for Academic Development at the Faculty of Physical Education, University of Prishtina. In this role, he played a key role in supporting internal mechanisms for quality assurance within the faculty.

From 2009 to 2013, Vehapi was Director of the Quality Assurance Office at AAB College, Kosovo. In this leadership role, he formulated and oversaw the implementation of policies, strategies, and procedures for improving academic quality throughout the institution.

During the years 2018–2019, Shemsedin Vehapi was a member of the HERE (Higher Education Reform Expert) group in Kosovo, in collaboration with the European Office in Kosovo and the Ministry of Education. In this role, he provided expertise and advice on the development and improvement of policies and practices in higher education in Kosovo, promoting alignment with European standards and supporting academic excellence in the country’s educational institutions.

These projects contributed to the modernization and alignment of sport science education in the Western Balkans with European standards, while Vehapi’s involvement underscores his commitment to regional academic development and international cooperation.

Art and Culture

From 2000 to 2010, he served as coach of the volleyball club “Universiteti AAB”, and during this period, he also held an additional role as physical conditioning coach of the Kosovo national volleyball team.

He was a member of the Professional Council of the Volleyball Federation of Kosovo from 2018 to 2022. Since 2020, he has been engaged as a lecturer and instructor at the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, where he is responsible for certifying fitness trainers.
