Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences at AAB College organized a humanitarian activity aimed at supporting children and young people with disabilities in the city of Gjakovë.
This initiative was implemented within the framework of the students’ continuous academic and civic engagement, reflecting their commitment to the promotion of humanitarian values, social solidarity, and civic responsibility.
As part of the activity, students prepared handmade greeting cards, which were offered for sale, with the funds raised donated to the Handikos Center, an institution that provides specialized services and support to children and young people with disabilities.
Through this engagement, students had the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the challenges, needs, and everyday realities faced by this community, as well as to better understand the importance of community involvement and the role of higher education institutions in supporting inclusive and socially responsible initiatives.
Within the scope of this initiative, Prof. Diana Qarkaxhija, together with the Director of Handikos, Ms. Brilanta, paid a visit to the Handikos Center, where they met with the children and young people and their parents, conveying messages of support, solidarity, and institutional commitment.This activity was assessed as a valuable educational experience for the students, contributing to the development of social awareness, empathy, and professional responsibility, in line with the mission of AAB College to foster socially engaged and responsible graduates.
