1 June 2026

Students from the Faculty of Psychology participated in a lecture dedicated to trauma and its impact on individuals’ lives, featuring clinical psychologist Selvi Izeti from Kosova Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims (KRCT) and Ramadan Nishori, the first man in Kosovo to publicly share his experience as a survivor of wartime sexual violence.

During the lecture, the psychologist shared her expertise and professional experience working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, emphasizing the importance of a professional, sensitive, and trauma-informed approach. The discussion also addressed the issue of conflict-related sexual violence during the Kosovo war and the ongoing challenges faced by survivors.

Following this, Ramadan Nishori shared his personal story as a survivor of wartime sexual violence. He spoke about the challenges he has faced over the years, his recovery journey, and the importance of breaking the silence surrounding war-related trauma.

Through this lecture, students gained valuable insight into the psychological dimensions of trauma and the importance of providing specialized support to individuals affected by traumatic experiences. The event offered a meaningful opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with real-life experiences, further enriching students’ understanding of trauma and recovery processes.
