AAB College Continues Summer School on “International Aspects of EU Integration” –Second Week Focused on Advanced EU Studies

10 June 2026

AAB College successfully continued its academic Summer School titled “International Aspects of EU Integration” with the second week of intensive lectures held from 8 to 12 June 2026. This advanced module further strengthened participants’ understanding of the European Union, EU integration processes, international relations, European governance, and geopolitical transformation, with a strong focus on both theoretical frameworks and applied policy analysis.

The program, delivered by Ass. Prof. Dr. Venera Llunji, provided an in-depth academic examination of the European Union as a complex political, economic, and normative global actor. Building on the foundations of the first week, the second phase emphasized advanced perspectives on EU governance, enlargement policy, and external relations, particularly in relation to the Western Balkans and EU accession processes.

Key academic discussions addressed the historical development and conceptual foundations of the European Union, including its institutional evolution and integration theory, as well as the EU’s global trade policy, Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), and the geopolitics of EU enlargement.

Participants also critically engaged with topics related to European diplomacy, institutional communication, public diplomacy, and strategic communication in the EU context, highlighting the EU’s role as a global actor in shaping international norms and policy frameworks.

Through this advanced academic engagement, participants enhanced their competencies in EU
studies, international relations, European policy analysis, diplomacy, and governance systems, gaining a deeper understanding of the mechanisms driving European integration and external policy coordination.

The second week of the Summer School reaffirmed AAB College’s commitment to academic excellence, internationalization, European studies education, policy research, and capacity building in higher education.
