On International Earth Day, AAB College hosted a discussion on the care of the environment in which we live, addressing this important topic which requires the commitment of all. Guests were AAB College Rector, Dr. Sc. Bujar Demjaha and the Director of the Organization “Let’s Do It Kosova”, Mr. Luan Hasanaj. Rector Mr. Demjaha when speaking about the importance of this day, stressed that joint commitment and general awareness are required, not only of society, but especially of the country’s institutions, to ensure a clean and healthy environment. The Rector called on all students to think about the environment not only on International Earth Day, but on an ongoing basis. He also said that educational institutions should make it a part of their daily work to care for the environment, cleanliness and a health. Meanwhile, the Director of “Let’s Do It Kosova”, Mr. Hasanaj spoke about the projects of this Organization. He said that the initiative they have taken for the first time in Kosovo, which is “Digital Cleaning Day” aims to bring the world’s attention to virtual-digital waste, which we rarely think is “waste”, and that this type of waste also has an impact on the environment and our daily lives through energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Various applications, files, photos, videos, etc., that take place in our digital devices (smartphones, laptops, computers, etc.) as unused, obsolete or uninstalled are considered digital waste. The director Mr. Hasanaj also spoke about a series of important projects that have been implemented in the past and those that they plan to implement in the future. According to him, cooperation with institutions is necessary, but also civic awareness must mark an increase in relation to the responsibility for the environment and care for a clean and healthy environment.
