The International Book and Copyright Day and the International Day of English Language was marked today at the Chamber Theater of AAB College. This event was organized by the Faculty of English Language and the University Library of AAB College. During this day of many activities organized to promote books and reading culture, Rector of AAB College, Lulzim Tafa, urged the students to use this opportunity for celebration but also for the education of young people and society in general through reading.
“Here at AAB, every day is a book day, we live with books; however, let us mark this one day as the day where we celebrate and express our gratitude for the riches books bring to our life.” said Tafa, while also underlining that in honor of the late professor Masar Stavileci, the award for distinguished students will bear his name.
On this occasion, the University Library of AAB College shared a set of books for the 5 most distinguished students: Blerta Neziri, Egzona Krasniqi, Arbnor Grabanica, Fitore Krasniqi and Shpresa Agushi.
Today’s celebration was further enriched with the students of the English Language Faculty, who came prepared with poems and monologues of renown authors such as William Shakespeare and Charles Bukowski, among others.
By UNESCO decision, april 23rd is set as a special day on the calendar that celebrates the day of the book and the English language. AAB College celebrates dates such as this with different activities.
