As part of the Forum organized by the European University Association (EUA), the proceedings
took place at the premises of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon, Portugal.
The plenary session titled “Exploring the what, why and how of educational transformation”
brought together university leaders and higher education experts to reflect on educational
transformation, the balance between innovation and the core mission of universities, and the
real value that change should bring to students and society.
During the parallel sessions, key topics were addressed, including academic staff engagement,
the development of learning communities, measuring the impact of professional development,
artificial intelligence in teaching, educational leadership, and inter-institutional cooperation
within the European Higher Education Area.
One of the most significant moments for AAB College was the interactive session of the
Thematic Peer Group titled “Staff development and transnational collaboration,” where AAB
played an active role both in the preparatory phase and in the development and presentation
of the framework created by the group.
The session was organized by members of the thematic group with international
representatives. A direct contribution was made by Vice-Rector Venera Llunji and Project
Development Officer Erëza Mehmeti, who presented the group’s work, experience, and the key
elements of the practical framework for staff development in support of international
collaboration. Through an interactive approach and collaborative exercises referred to as the
“Escape Room,” participants analyzed institutional factors that enable sustainable and effective
engagement beyond national borders.
The presence and active participation of the Rector of AAB College, Dr. Sc. Blerim Olluri, in the
working sessions of the day reaffirmed AAB’s institutional commitment to sustainable
educational transformation, academic staff development, and the strengthening of
transnational partnerships.
AAB College’s participation in this prestigious forum demonstrates its role as an active
contributor to European discussions on the future of higher education and its dedication to
being part of the processes shaping academic transformation at the international level.
