AAB College organizes “War, Conflict and Society” international virtual conference

7 July 2022

On December 9 and 10, 2022 AAB College organizes the international virtual conference on the topic “War, Conflict and Society”. This topic will be related to the transformative processes caused by conflicts in different geopolitical contexts. Recently, the war in Ukraine has propelled seismic shifts in the European context concerning questions of security and the status quo of Europe’s socio-political and humanitarian circumstances. From an academic viewpoint, the conference of AAB about war, conflict and society presents a unique platform in which the transformational dynamics of inter-group conflict are discussed in their broadest sense.

The aim is to highlight academic studies into conflict from a wide variety of disciplines and through different theoretical and methodological foci. In other words, the conference welcomes research that investigates the ways in which war and conflict shape society, questions of conflict resolution, transitional justice, nationalism, anti-war movements, genocide, etc.

Participants are academics and researchers from several different fields including Sebastian Muth from Lancaster University in England, Furtuna Sheremeti from Université Louvain in Belgium, Abit Hoxha from Agder University in Norway and Mieke Vandenbroucke from the University of Antwerp in Belgium.

Interested participants can send an abstract of no more than 200 words to this address: [email protected]

The application deadline is October 15, 2022.
