The Auditor General of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Osmani, visited AAB College, where he was received by the Rector, Mr. Bujar Demjaha, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Mr. Medain Hashani and the vice dean Mrs. Kosovare Ukshini. The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the cooperation between the National Audit Office and AAB College in the field of auditing, to exchange professional and academic assistance, as well as to provide students with more internship opportunities.
During his visit at AAB College, the Auditor General, Besnik Osmani, also had a discussion with the students of the Faculty of Economics, where he explained the role, the mission, how the National Audit Office works, as well as other details of the process of compiling audit reports.
Osmani said that the KAO audits public funds to assure taxpayers that their money is being used economically, that financial reporting is accurate and decisions are in line with legal requirements. The Auditor General further emphasized the importance of implementing the KAO recommendations and their impact on strengthening good governance and accountability.
During this discussion, the students showed a lot of interest in the auditing process, the security of the audit, the types of audits, the accountability and transparency of the spending of public money.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at AAB College, Mr. Medain Hashani, thanked the Auditor General for the visit, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the two institutions. Hashani said that the KAO continues to be among the most credible institutions in Kosovo through professional, independent and transparent work.
