“EduGrua” starts its first session at AAB College

The first session of the “EduGrua” project was held at AAB College. “EduGrua” is a project that is organized by AAB College and supported by the Swedish Institute and Lund University in Sweden. Lirie Hoti, project leader, spoke about the purpose and importance of this project and what it is expected to offer. The target group of this project are female victims of domestic violence in Kosovo and Albania, who through sessions and lectures organized by “EduGrua” will be motivated to talk about their stories and challenges that they went through.

Rector of AAB College, Dr. Sc. Bujar Demjaha while showing his full support of the project, said that he is proud that over 50% of the students in this college are women. The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Sweden, Mrs. Shkëndije Geci Sherifi welcomed this initiative shown by AAB College and the student Lirie.

The project supervisor from the Swedish Institute, Aleksandra Adrich, also expressed her satisfaction with the work done so far and encouraged everyone to take part in future initiatives like this one. Professor Venera Llunji, Vice Rector for Cooperation and International Relations, said that AAB College is always ready to cooperate and support such projects.

On this occasion, professor Veton Vula, Dean of the Faculty of Law at AAB College, presented his scientific findings on cases of domestic violence, especially during the pandemic in Kosovo. Whereas, the representative and advocate of victims of domestic violence, Bekim Dugolli presented other details on this topic while showing his appreciation on the undertaking of this project.

During the planned sessions of this project, there will be guests from different fields and women who will share success stories from their lives. Women who are part of this project and also have ideas about opening a business will be given a special platform to speak.
