Aims and the profile of the study program

The Bachelor Program in Graphic Design and Visual Arts at AAB College aims to provide high-quality, student-centered education, preparing graphic designers and visual artists who are capable of creating multidisciplinary products and contributing to the development of visual communication in a globalized world. Through contemporary teaching methods, creative research, and active engagement with society, the program seeks to build a strong theoretical foundation, practical design skills, and ethical responsibility among students.

The program spans three years and focuses on highly demanded fields such as computer graphics, web design, communication ethics, strategic design, business administration, marketing, and advertising. Students develop the ability to critically analyze existing theories and to generate new ideas that challenge traditional design boundaries.

Admission to studies

Bachelor studies in BA program in Graphic Design and Visual Arts have the right to enrol all those candidates who have completed secondary education, possess the necessary documentation, and fulfil the minimum admission criteria determined by the Senate. According to Article 5 of the Regulations for Bachelor Studies, the conditions for admission to Bachelor studies are:

Number of study places

The number of study places according to the decision of the KAA is 160 students per academic year.

Recognition of qualifications

Per the Regulation for Bachelor Studies at AAB College, recognition of qualifications and transfer of studies are governed by Articles 6, 7, and 8 of this regulation. These articles outline the conditions, criteria, and procedures for admitting students from other higher education institutions, the transfer process, and the recognition and equivalence of previously studied courses.

Duration and number of ECTS

Studies in the BA program in Graphic Design and Visual Arts last 3 years (6 semesters) and comprise a total of 180 ECTS, with 60 ECTS per year and 30 ECTS per semester.

Level and Academic Degree

Upon completion of the studies, students are awarded the academic title Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Visual Arts.

Taking into account the high demand for graphic design professionals in Kosovo and the surrounding region, the program equips students with the necessary competencies to meet the growing needs of public and private institutions, as well as to remain competitive in the creative industry.

Graduates of the BA in Graphic Design and Visual Arts program can be employed in professional design studios, media companies, publishing houses, and corporations that develop in-house creative teams.

The development of digital technology and global market opportunities, including Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), also enable graduates to work not only in the local market, but to offer services to international clients as well, making them competitive and well-prepared for careers in a constantly evolving industry.

Assessment methods

The BA in Graphic Design and Visual Arts program applies both formative and summative assessment methods.

Summative assessment methods include final projects where students present their design portfolio or project work; presentations where they explain their creative process and defend their professional choices; as well as written exams that assess their understanding of key design concepts and techniques.

Formative assessment methods include short quizzes, direct questioning during lectures, weekly exercises, and practical studio assignments to continuously evaluate students’ progress.
