Aim and program profile

The Management study program (MA) is a program which, through the teaching and research process, aims to align students as much as possible with the demands of the labor market and the nature of business management and other institutions, enabling them to transform their professional competence in the context of the development of managerial, analytical, strategic, research and creative skills in the spheres of management. The program aims to provide authentic research and professional conditions that enable students to prepare adequately for the local, regional and international labor market. In this regard, the way the study program is organized is such that it offers students the acquisition of disciplinary, methodological and generic competencies. The program is designed in such a way that it contains some main subjects that are professional (disciplinary), i.e. specific subjects that include the field of management, subjects of the scientific research field (Methodology of scientific research) as well as general subjects that include the field of economics. The program also offers several elective courses, which help the student to choose courses according to his interest in the field of management.

Expected learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the MA Management program, students will acquire the following knowledge, skills and competencies:

Knowledge:

– Identify advanced management strategies and human resource management strategies by obtaining information from the external environment and resources within organizations;

– Describe in an advanced way contemporary management practices and their role in business management and other institutions;

– Realize the general process of designing scientific research and modeling quantitative methods adapted to the field of management;

– Reflect on the theories of innovation and entrepreneurship as a source and means of implementing strategic changes within an organization;

– Distinguish the different methods for managing conflicts within the organization by analyzing concrete strategies for solving problems;

– Analyze advanced finance management in corporations and investments for various application projects;

– Discuss the process of supply chain management, quality management and management of marketing strategies;

Skills:

– Demonstrates the ability to use a critical thinking approach and develops problem-solving strategies for important and complex issues related to the functioning of the management of organizations;

– Communicates effectively with specialized audiences through the drafting of concise, well-researched, professionally formatted and structured reports and presents reports clearly and effectively from various management areas;

– Use information technology to apply research methods in the field of management through various statistical software and make strategic decisions based on empirical results;

Prepare projects, business plans, strategic plans and seminar papers using guidelines and creative management approaches of businesses and other public and financial institutions and draft the idea of ​​the Master’s topic applying scientific research standards.

Competencies:

– Handle complex ethical and professional issues and make decisions on issues that are not addressed by current professional codes or practices due to rapid global change;

– Will be able to integrate the knowledge and skills for the field of management in understanding the development of the organization, thus being aware of maintaining a balanced decision-making process;

– To be independent in different analyzes of strategic management, human resource management, quality management, supply chain management and information systems management;

– To be autonomous in the design and management of projects, and the application of strategic plans, business plans and the implementation of the scientific process for solving problems and making managerial decisions;

– Manage time in the sense of organizing and systematizing priorities and tasks;

– Communicate effectively in order to increase efficiency and synergy;

– Make decisions and choose problems effectively.

Academic level and degree

Upon completion of studies, candidates earn the title Master of Arts in Management.

Duration of studies and workload

Master studies last for 2 years with a total of 4 semesters, while the total number of ECTS is 120. Three semesters will have four required courses, while the fourth semester is dedicated to preparation of master thesis, which will be worth of 30 ECTS.
