Aims and profile of the study program

The BA Program in Mass Communication and Journalism is designed to prepare competitive professionals for the media market and for both public and private organizations in Kosovo. It aims to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills that contribute to the daily monitoring of democracy and the ongoing improvement of society.

To achieve these objectives, the program provides students with the opportunity to gain advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills that they can later apply in the labor market. This includes the ability to make independent judgments, communicate effectively, and act responsibly within society. Specifically, the program offers students a deep understanding of journalism, familiarity with societal norms, and coursework in areas related to journalism, such as marketing and public relations. It also provides a critical understanding of theories and concepts pertinent to our connected society, especially in the age of social media and the challenges posed by fake news.

Additionally, the program allows students to develop various writing and reporting techniques, equipping them with the competencies needed for different journalism channels and platforms. This encompasses both traditional media and new media through professional practice modules and training in the use of new technologies to produce media content.
