Albert Zogaj

Albert Zogaj was born on March 27, 1981, in Istog, where he completed his primary and secondary education. In 2004, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina, Civil Law Department (https://uni-pr.edu), while in 2008 at the same institution, he completed postgraduate studies with the diploma topic “Property Law in Immovable Property in Kosovo”, where he earned the title of Master of Laws (Mr.Sc).

In 2020, he continued the Doctoral Program in Civil Law at the South East European University in Tetovo, where he is currently working on his Doctoral thesis entitled “The burden of proof and means of evidence in contentious law” (https://www.seeu.edu.mk/).

He began his professional career in 2004 in the Bar Association of Kosovo as an intern until 2005, and from 2006 exercised the profession of lawyer in Peja until 2010.

His judicial experience began in October 2010, when he was appointed as a judge at the Municipal Court in Pristina. After the reorganization of the judicial system, in October 2013, he was appointed as a judge at the Basic Court of Pristina, in the General Department (https://prishtine.gjyqesori-rks.org). In August 2015, he was promoted to the Court of Appeals of Kosovo, in the General Department – Civil Division (https://apeli.gjyqesori-rks.org).

In September 2020, he was appointed as a judge at the Supreme Court of Kosovo, the highest judicial instance of the country (https://supreme.gjyqesori-rks.org). Within a short period, in March 2021, he was elected as a member of the Kosovo Judicial Council, and in June of the same year, he took over the position of Chair of the Kosovo Judicial Council. He was re-elected in July 2024 and will serve until March 2026 (https://www.gjyqesori-rks.org).

In addition to his judicial career, Albert Zogaj started working as an assistant in 2008 at AAB College, where he later continued as a lecturer teaching subjects such as Civil Law, Civil Procedure, Law of Obligations, and Family Law (https://aab-edu.net).

In 2019, he was appointed Deputy President of the Bar Examination Commission by the Assembly of Kosovo. In 2021, he was appointed President of the Commission with a two-year mandate.

He is also a trainer at the Academy of Justice, contributing to the professional training of new judges and prosecutors (https://ad.rks-gov.net).
