Curr Gjocaj

Profesor

Dr. Curr Gjocaj, a medical doctor specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Master of Science in this field, was born on October 8, 1969, in the village of Baballoc, Municipality of Deçan. He currently lives and works in Pristina, Republic of Kosovo. He lectures (Adjunct Professor) at AAB College.

Education

Dr. Curr Gjocaj completed his primary education at “Drita” Primary School in the village of Gramoqel, Deçan Municipality, and his secondary education at “Vëllezërit Frashëri” Gymnasium in Deçan.
In 1995, he completed his university studies at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tirana, earning the title “General Practitioner”, which was nostrified in the Republic of Kosovo as “Doctor of Medicine”.
In 2003, he successfully completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same faculty, earning the title of OB-GYN Specialist.
In 2004, he successfully defended his thesis titled “Mode of Delivery and Perinatal Outcomes in Breech Presentations” and obtained the Professional Master’s Degree in Medical Sciences – Obstetrics and Gynecology Track, from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Tirana.
All diplomas obtained abroad have been officially nostrified by the competent institutions in the Republic of Kosovo, in accordance with current legislation.

Professional Experience

Dr. Gjocaj has extensive experience in the healthcare system of Kosovo, having served in numerous roles as physician, institutional leader, and lecturer:

• 2003–2006: OB-GYN Specialist at QKMF Lipjan
• 2006–2008: Senior Health Inspector at the Ministry of Health
• 2008–2014: Director of the Department of Health Services – Ministry of Health
• 2014–2017: First General Director of the Kosovo Hospital and University Clinical Service (SHSKUK)
• 2017–2023: OB-GYN Specialist at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic (KOGJ) at UCCK
• From June 1, 2023 onward: Head of the Department for Specialist Outpatient Clinics and Admissions at KOGJ – UCCK

Other relevant professional roles include:

• 2008–2014: Secondary engagement as on-call OB-GYN Specialist at the General Hospital in Ferizaj
• 2011–2013: OB-GYN Specialist at the private medical institution “Shendi-1” in Prishtina
• From 2019 onward: Specialist at the “Shendi-1” Polyclinic in Fushë Kosovë (later operating as a licensed OB-GYN Specialist Clinic)

Academic and Teaching Experience

Dr. Curr Gjocaj has contributed to higher education as a lecturer at several well-known academic institutions in Kosovo:

• 2007–2010: Lecturer at Universum College – courses: Human Anatomy and Health Education
• 2014–2018: Professor at Universi College – courses: Obstetrics, Gynecology, Reproductive Health, and Family Planning
• 2015–2019: Adjunct Professor at Rezonanca Medical School – course: Obstetrics and Gynecology
• 2019–present: Adjunct Professor at AAB College – currently lectures the course “Nursing for Women’s Health, Gynecology, and Obstetrics”. Previously also taught other medical-related courses.

In many of these, Dr. Gjocaj has made substantial scientific contributions through presentations and professional discussions in fields including obstetrics, gynecology, bioethics, and other topics of public and professional interest.
