Prof. Ass. Dr. Driton Muharremi was born on December 14, 1975, in Prishtina, where he completed both his primary and secondary education. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Prishtina in 2001. He completed his Master’s studies in 2007. In 2015, he earned his Doctorate in Criminal Legal Sciences from the University of Travnik in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
His professional career began as an intern at the Municipal Court of Prishtina in 2002. From 2003 to 2006, he served as a professional associate at the same court. In 2006, he was appointed as a judge at the Municipal Court of Prishtina, where he served until 2010, when he was appointed as a judge at the District Court of Prishtina.
In January 2013, he was appointed judge at the Court of Appeals, a position he held until December 2021. Additionally, in August 2020, he was appointed as a member of the Kosovo Judicial Council.
Prof. Assoc. Dr. Driton Muharremi served as a member of the Kosovo Judicial Council, elected by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, from August 2020 to August 2021.
In addition to his judicial engagements, he has been a professor of criminal law subjects at AAB University College since 2007, starting as an Assistant, Lecturer, and eventually Professor of Criminal Law Group Courses.

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Driton Muharremi has participated in various conferences, trainings, and study visits both domestically and internationally, including in the USA, Argentina, Slovenia, Malta, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Romania, Austria, and more.
He has nearly 20 years of experience in the Kosovo judicial system, serving as a judge in the Department for Serious Crimes at both the Basic and Appellate levels, a member of the Judicial Council, and Deputy Chair of the Board of the Kosovo Academy of Justice. In addition, he has more than 17 years of academic experience as Assistant, Lecturer, and Professor at AAB University College.
He is married, has two daughters, and lives in Prishtina.
